FEBRUARY MEETING WITH ALEX ISBISTER, M.S.W.
More than 65 members and their guests enjoyed an interactive session on "Cancer & Emotion". Alex's presentation focused on the importance of understanding and expressing the deep feelings and emotions that commonly accompany traumatic events such as the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Members participated in a number of interactive written exercises and placed 'stickies 'on a chart expressing individual feelings about cancer, its diagnosis and treatment. To close a very successful and informative event, Alex addressed several written questions, comments and concerns expressed by the members.
A link to Alex's Session Summary is available on the Us Too! web site. In addition, an Audio tape or CD of the talk will be available in the near future as part of the Us Too! Resource Materials at the Brampton Library. Our thanks to Alex for an interesting and informative evening.

FINANCE
Only 110 of 130 active members have paid the modest $10 annual subscription fee that helps cover our operating costs. Although our costs rise almost monthly, we have not raised this fee since 1994. If you have not done so, please send your cheque, payable to US TOO!, to Gerry Brunjes, 8 Duke Road, Bramalea, L6T 3K1. A receipt will be sent, if requested.

AWARENESS
As always, Ian Smith is working hard to raise public awareness of Prostate Cancer in the community. Current plans in include a lunch-hour meeting in Peel Region in September, one or more information booths at Building Box and public announcements on several local "ethnic" radio stations. If you wish to help or have an idea for an Awareness event, contact Ian Smith at (905) 454-3880.

RELAY FOR LIFE
A reminder that Us Too! Brampton will again be entering a team in the annual Relay For Life, operated by the Canadian Cancer Society. We are seeking 10 to 12 team members to participate in this overnight noncompetitive relay. In past years, the $10 per person registration fee has been waived for survivor teams, but each member is expected to raise at least $100 in pledges. This year's Relay will be held at the Caledon Fairgrounds starting on Friday, June 20th and finishing Saturday morning.
If you don't fancy a night out with the boys, you are welcome to sign up for the "Survivors' Victory Lap" on the Friday evening. Many of our members have done the Victory Lap over the last few years and have always enjoyed the Survivor Reception, the Opening Ceremony, the Victory Lap and many other activities immensely. To join this year's Us Too! Relay for Life Team, call Jim Dorsey at (905) 453-3038 or Ian Smith at (905) 454-3880.

"HUMOUR"
There is currently more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra than on Alzheimer's research.
This means that by the year 2020, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.
