MAY 9, 2000.

Once again we would like to update you on the activities of USTOO - BRAMPTON. Our second new member meeting was held last night at Shoppers World - Brampton. The separate meeting allows the New Member Committee to spend more time with recently diagnosed men and their families at a very difficult period of their lives. The meetings are held the Monday night before our regular meetings. The next meeting will be held Monday June 12th.

Bill Dolighan, who may have visited you in the hospital, has recently undergone successful brachytherapy. Bill has decided to resign from the steering committee to spend more time with his family. We would like to convey a special thanks to him for the time and effort in this capacity. Bill will still be available as a consultant on brachytherapy. Doug Hancock will now take on the visitation function.

The Canadian Cancer Society - Brampton has recently invited us to attend an open house on June 1st and participate in a "relay for life" fundraiser on June 9 & 10. With the membership's blessing we would like to make a donation to this cause on behalf of USTOO - BRAMPTON. More information is available from Fred or myself.

Your steering committee has been planning for the Awareness Week , Sept. 18-24.
Working with Jim Muldoon we may have some surprises in store. In addition, we will need volunteers to help out at Kiosks in Shoppers World and possibly Bramalea City Centre. Give your name to any committee member if you would like to help out.

The web site was recently upgraded by our friend Peter Dutch in England. Somehow I got it in place. Take a look. We recently had our 900th hit.

Tonight's speaker, Wallace "Wally" Seeley was elected as Chairman of the C.P.C.N. in March of '97. He has spent his life working in the financial field with Transamerica and his own company. He serves on the board of directors of the Canadian Prostate Cancer Research Initiative and the Canadian Prostate Cancer Alliance. The 65 year old had a radical in '93 and has been cancer free ever since. Tonight Wally will discuss advances being made in prostate cancer treatment and research.

Enjoy the evening,........................................ Don Grant, Communications.
