Us -Too! Brampton General Meeting

"Navigating the Emotional Side-Effects of Prostate Cancer" by Dr. Andrew G. Matthew, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist at the Prostate Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital, University Health Network, a clinician investigator in the Departments of Surgery, and Psychosocial Oncology and Palliative Care, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto.
His presentation will describe the psychological responses of men who have been diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer. The purpose is to help men understand and “normalize” their emotional reaction to prostate cancer and to offer them simple strategies for coping with this challenging experience.
This presentation is based on a review of the scientific literature examining the psychological impact of prostate cancer across the entire trajectory of the disease, from diagnosis to recovery.
